IT'S HARD TO BE HUMBLE
WHEN YOU CAN TUMBLE

Our
recreational tumbling & trampoline program is for girls and boys who really
love to bounce and flip! Students in the program will use
the various trampolines (competition trampoline, tumble trampoline, double
mini-trampoline, mini-trampolines, etc...), and the various tumbling surfaces
(100' rod floor, Polk county's largest spring floor, tumble
trampoline, etc...). This program is perfect for those that want
to tumble, but not do bars and beam. It is also great for cheerleaders,
divers, martial artists, dancers, wake boarders, and anyone interested in learning to
tumble and flip. Advanced students will be eligible to try out for
the competitive trampoline and tumbling team.
The competitive sport of Tumbling & Trampoline is part of international gymnastics,
and trampoline became an Olympic event in the year 2000.
The competitive sport of Tumbling & Trampoline has a 10 level system similar to Artistic Gymnastics, with level 1 being the beginner level, and level 10 being the highest level.
Competition includes 3 disciplines:
Tumbling
In competition, 2 passes are performed. Between 3 and 8 skills are
directly connected in a rhythmic flow down an 80' long super springy tumbling
strip.
Trampoline
In competition, the athletes perform one or two routines consisting of 10 skills
connected together without extra bounces between skills. The
trampolines used are a far cry from the typical back yard trampoline - larger, bouncier, and rectangular.
Trampoline is used as a basic training device for all sports which contain acrobatic elements.
Synchronized Trampoline is also competed at the highest levels. It demands the same athletic skill as individual trampoline, while adding the element of precision timing. Using two trampolines, two athletes perform identical routines at the same time performing as a mirror image of each other, doubling the visual beauty of trampoline competition.
Double Mini Trampoline
Double mini combines the horizontal run of tumbling with the vertical rebound of trampoline. After a short run, the athlete jumps onto a small two-level trampoline to perform a rebounding trick immediately followed by a dismount element onto a landing mat. Double mini is similar to springboard diving, using a mat instead of water.
