Approximately 5,000 athletes competed, including male and female gymnasts, rhythmic gymnasts and cheerleaders including athletes from Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington and athletes from Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Venezuela.
